GENEVA 11.06.2018 – The EASL International Liver Foundation’s board of directors today elected Jeffrey V. Lazarus as the 1st Vice-Chair.
Prof Jeffrey V. Lazarus is the head of the Health Systems Research Group at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), Hospital Clínic. He also holds a position as an affiliated professor at CHIP, the WHO Collaborating Centre on HIV and Viral Hepatitis at Rigshospitalet, the University of Copenhagen. He earlier served as Professor at LUHS Medical Academy, Lithuania. His decade-long career as health systems, HIV and hepatitis expert at WHO’s Regional Office for Europe was followed by three years at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Prof Lazarus leaves the position as Board Chair of AFEW International to take up this new position. He continues on the steering committee of the two European Commission Joint Actions on infectious disease and as a member of the EASL International Liver Foundation.

I know Jeffrey will be an excellent Vice-Chair for the Foundation and I look forward to continuing my strong working relationship with him.”
